Can dogs sense this kindaf stuff.?

I'm still crying from it, but about an hour ago I gave my dog to the humane society. The (bleep) owner of my apartment complex didn't like pitbulls and my dog wasn't registered. In other words I wuld have to pay for my dog staying with us, and I didn't because I never told them he was staying with us. She said he had to leave within 24 hours and so we culdnt find anywhere else to stay so we gave him bak. 8 months old tomarrow, and while we were at the place my dog wuz whining and pulling and he wuldnt stop. Did he know what wuz happening.?
