Becoming a Registered Nurse?

im gonna be a junior in hs and ive decided that i want to be a RN. my friend also wants to be a RN too and shes taking some medical core ROP classes during the summer. she told me that i should take some medical classes to prepare myself for college but i dont think its necessary cause wouldnt we all be learning the same thing anyways?? so it wouldnt matter who took ROP classes or who didnt cause we're all gonna start on the same page right?? i understand that the people who took the ROP classes will be more familar with what we're learning but i kinda dont care cause i'll eventually learn it too.
